Redmi Note 4 (MediaTek) Slow Browsing

I recently bought a Redmi Note 4 (Mediatek) 3gb/32gb. The browsers were always hit and miss. Some times they would work flawlessy, more often than not it would take at least 40 seconds to start loading a webpage through the browser it would take another minute for the pictures to load.

The speed test app is the same. Sometimes it will find my nearest server straight away but more often than not it will take a while.

I have 30mb fibre bb. The speed is always constant and ping is 11ms.

No one else has this problem in the house with their phones. iPhones and Huawei g6, Also all the tablets work fine too.

I have tried with numerous browsers on both 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz. I have also updated my phone to Miui 8.2 and still the same problem. I flashed the developer rom to the phone and still the same problem and just a while ago I flashed AOSP-ROM-6.0-Nikel- to the phone but still the same problem. This Rom does not have MIUI so I have also ruled out MIUI as the problem.

I was out last night for a while and I was connected to the wifi, One was VOdafone, Im not sure what the other one was. The browsers worked flawlessy for the duration of the time I was there. As soon as I came home it was the same problem.

Im really starting to think that it might be the Eir router that I am using (f2000) DOes anyone else think this could be the problem or know of any settings that may need to be changed, I really dont want to have to change my phone and fork out some more money. Im convinced that the problem is either the router or some type of Interference,

If you haven't tried it already... disable Bluetooth on the phone and retest. Bluetooth can have a severe impact on one routers wifi and not on anothers.

Thanks Scotty I have tried that and still no Joy,

I was passing Three and spotted a great offer on the Galaxy S8, €49 payment and €60 P/M for 2 years. I went and got myself that :)

I was with Vodafone and if I was in my sitting room and someone rang me it would go straight to voicemail as I had no reception. (Same with any phone on vodafone)

I now have 4g with my new phone on three in my sitting room which is faster than my home BB :) So im happy out.

Have the Redmi Note 4 and the Redmi Note 3 and both have issues browsing using the F2000 router from Eir.
Anybody find a setting change on router to improve this?
Searched web but nothing showing up....

COlumbo I changed to a different phone. I do believe the problem was caused by the eir router, its runs perfectly on all other routers.

    Good luck finding a fix

I have the redmi note 3 and I have no problems with the eircom router. Are you using a dns/vpn on the router?

Thanks but no DNS or VPN set up just default setting on router.
Have looked and nobody has found an answer to this!!!!!!!
Even the Eir support website says contact tech support and all they seem to do is replace router!!!
Will report back if I find anything.

I have the same issue on my phone while using a different router as an access point.

Conspiracy theorist in me wonders if it isn't some sort of play to encourage you to upgrade to a BillPay phone in a bundle with your broadband

    Which I ended up doing

I tried it with various browsers and no luck, I borrowed a router from a friend and it worked perfectly. Its the router is the problem.

Set my wifi to only connect to 5g and seems to be much better not dropping connection now for a few days.
