I have three flooring jobs I would like to get done in my house. I would like to replace the carpet in my front room with solid maple flooring to match the other rooms in the house. Room size is 16sq mts. I would also like to get tiles in my hall to replace the laminate which is there now. Hallway is approx 8 sq mts. I would also like to replace the carpet on my stairs. Could someone tell me the best way to approach this job please? Should I source the materials myself & hire a floor specialist who could do all three jobs? Would such a person exist? Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

Hi, yes, that's what to do. You hire a floor specialist and they have samples of panels and carpets, so you can choose from what they have. The next option is you go with them to one of the showrooms and choose something together.

Some showrooms have their own fitter, too or they can recommend you someone.

Finally, if you really want to source the material yourself, you can and then you just ask the fitter for a quotation for the fitting service only.

I know a good floor specialist in the Cork area if you need a recommendation.

Unfortunately, I don't know anyone in Dublin, but if you google "carpet and wood flooring dublin" you will have a lot of results. I would then go to your nearest showroom and ask if they have their own fitter or if they can recommend one. Then I, once you have the carpet and the laminate panels sorted I would also ask this fitter if he does tiles - usually, they don't, but they surely know someone who does.

    Good luck with it!
