Groundhog Day in a slasher movie. Looks like a clever mashup!

Out Friday 13th of October. :)

I started to get interested then remembered it will probably be PG13 and lost all interest.

That looks a legitimately fun premise and could be a tonne of fun. My main surprise watching it is that no one thought of a horror tinged Groundhog Day before ...

Dude, ratings aren't everything, you're somewhat obsessed if you don't mind me saying :) watching this trailer doesn't make me think more blood / swearing would magically either make things better or worse.

It's also worth pointing out that this movie is coming from Blumhouse Productions, whose stock in trade is horror / thrillers: among others they've produced Belko Experiment, Get Out, Split, Hush, the Insidious & Paranormal Activity series, The Purge films etc. They're a very tidy & efficient operation that know how to craft low-budget films with decent hooks, films that end up making a shed-load at the box office.

Trailer looks very interesting although I wish they did't show the part where she thinks she has killed her killer only for them to return and run over the cop. It could have ended at 2 minutes and I would have been interested still.

It is (and so is Geostorm).
Jigsaw out next Thursday too (26th)

    Some fun movies coming. :)

Back on topic, HDD is getting very good reviews. "Fresh" from 61 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes (no mean feat for a comedy slasher/horror)

I saw the trailer for this and like the concept but, given that The Edge Of Tomorrow has done the hard work of selling this kind of concept, I thought the trailer shows a lot more than was necessary. A shame too as it looks like it could be very good.

Assuming it gets good reviews I will very probably check it out :)

I usually enjoy films featuring time loops such as Groundhog Day and The Edge of Tomorrow. I was looking to see what's currently on in the cinemas and checked out a couple of reviews for this film. Unfortunately, for me, the plot of seems a little too close to Before I Fall which I watched only a couple of months ago.

If that's the way you pick movies to watch, you'll never go to the cinema at all. Every movie is influenced by others - originality is very rare these days.

This was a massively entertaining movie and the most fun I've had at the cinema in a while. The last 20 minutes were a giddy joy and you're guaranteed to leave the cinema in a great mood. Absolutely great fun and I'll be recommending it to everyone.

On a side note, Jessica Rothe is a great up and coming talent and she'll go far. Great job in this movie - very likable.

    Go see it.

That's true. After reading the reviews, I felt that it was just a little too soon for me to watch another film about a "popular" American teenager, reliving the same day over-and-over trying to prevent a death.

Thanks for your feedback from seeing the film. It sounds like it was well executed and I'd be more inclined to give it a shot if it's still on when I get back from holidays.

In the end, I didn't actually make it to the cinema today. :(

I saw this at the weekend it was a lot of fun, really nice little twist on a standard slasher, tongue in cheek and some funny bits.

Just finished this, really unexpectedly enjoyable. Funny, interesting and with a satisfying resolution.
I'd have preferred if Tombs was the killer though, and it had just ended when she blew out the candle.

    Overall, 7/10.

Enjoyable twist on the teen slasher flick. 7/10 also.
