    Hi all

Planning on booking a short stopover in Dubai on my way to Cambodia as I've never been.

I'm in between booking two nights or three nights.

Do you reckon it'd be better to go for three nights so I can take it easy exploring the city? Just want to soak up the main sights and malls, Burj etc.

2 nights is more than enough in Dubai. Go to the Burj, maybe do the desert tour. It's a souless city full of bling and little else. Use the extra time in Cambodia.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

My time in Cambodia if I was to do two nights in Dubai would be 20 nights. Three nights in Dubai would obviously cut that shorter again.

Agree with this. I wouldn't prolonging your stay.

I have a 9am flight after the second night so it'd be a day and a half really. Should be enough time to do the main sights?

If you are visiting burj you really need to book in advance online otherwise the much cheaper and equally as good 125th floor lookout will be gone. Arriving 2 hours before sunset is ideal, the fountains start at 6pm.

In 2 days you technically could book a desert safari in the morning, they leave about 8am and do burj in the evening and check out deira at night.

Thanks. The two days should be enough you reckon? That leaves 20 days for Cambodia then.

Right, turns out I may be able to stretch another week for the holiday.

Do you reckon 2 days still is enough for Dubai, with 26 days then for Cambodia and surrounding?

The malls in Dubai are gigantic so if you are a big fan of shopping you probably need to give yourself most of the day exploring one or two of those.

Your date of travel is important. Dubai isn't exactly somewhere to be walking around outside during the heat of the day in July and August.

I personally would do the 3 days as the time will fly, book a big suite for the price of a hostel in Dublin and visit al mamzar beach park in the north of the city

Would 6 nights in Dubai be a bit too much for the place? Better off just doing 3 nights? Emirates offer doesn't seem to include the weekend dates in between so I can only choose between 3 nights or 6 nights in Dubai for the stopover.

If doing 6 nights I was thinking I could split it, as in 3 nights in Abu Dhabi (hour on bus) and 3 nights in Dubai before heading onwards to Cambodia? Or are both places much of the same, and 3 nights should be enough? (Leaving 23 nights in Cambodia)

what do you guys think? First time visiting both of these countries and solo traveler.

    Many thanks guys.

Have booked the trip now with 6 nights stopover in Dubai - will split them between Abu Dhabi also. Better than rushing to see both cities! :p

Leaves me with 23 nights in Cambodia which should be absolutely plenty.

Would love some attraction and hotel recommendations if you guys have any!
    :D

If you have money to spend then you can easily spend 6 days in Dubai.

If you are on a budget it's a different matter.
