Used car buyers happy to travel for right car

The used car market is one of the sectors to benefit most from the internet , gone are the days of people just visiting local car dealers or checking the local paper for their next car.

Think being a Dub exiled in Cork is something to do with it , but find it fascinating how people are quite happy to travel to other end of country for the next car - even if its not a high end / rare model.

For example a see a lot of ex uk cars in Cork bought at a used dealer up in Donegal , thought first this dealer must be local as Donegal is a long way from Cork.

Also a lot of main dealers in Cork sell their trade ins ( especially prestige brands ) to used dealers in Dublin - many of these cars then end up being bought and brought bak to Cork.!

It seems thanks to the net , if you have the right car at the right price - you can successfully sell cars from any part of the country.

One thing I wonder about though , these buyers cant get their local mechanic to check over a car at other end of country and the warranty is not going to be of much use either ??

They are taking a bit of a risk and putting a lot of trust in the dealer !
