Hello,

Did anyone get called for an interview? I hear they are on at the moment. I didn't get through so I am interested what level of experience you need to get called for interview.

Does anyone know how many applied, how many got interviewed and so on?

Maybe AO was more realistic for me.

I know a serving AO:
early 40's,
long time ACA and CTA qualified,
with >15 years practice & industry experience,
was right at the top of his AO panel a few years ago,
has done very good work and would have a good reputation/profile within the organisation (not that this helps but it can't hurt),
has already been on an AP panel previously (expired without promotion because he is tied to a location - again not that this helps but it indicates the guy knows how to complete a form etc..!)

Didn't even get an interview!

I have heard that there were ca 300 applications and that they are interviewing ca 70 people.

A friend of a friend got an interview but wasn't placed even though she is well regarded AO. Disappointing but at least she got interview and experience.

Anyone hear anything? I hear results issued today.

I heard 1200 applied and either 70 or 90 got interviews. I placed on the panel but not very high. I have no idea whether I have any chance of being called to a position. If anyone has any idea of how many positions there might be then please let me know.

I know a lot people that applied with similar accounting and audit experience that didn't get called for interview. I have more management experience so that might have edged it for me in terms of getting called for interview. Also I'm an AP equivalent already so that may have helped but my current location doesn't suit me and revenue would offer me more opportunities.

Decinho, well done on getting on the panel. What is "not very high" in your book and is that you want to move from Dublin I presume?

It seems a lot who applied were at a very senior level or AP equivalent in other department. Does that mean the likes of AOs or HEOs are goosed?

Not necessarily, the only HEO (serving in Revenue) I know that went for it placed in the top 20. Having said that, the same person is qualified ACCA and CTA also.

Thanks. I was just about top 30. No idea how many made panel. I can't see there being 30 jobs any time soon though.

I know of an EO who got called to interview for it but I'm not sure if she made the panel. I really don't know how they pick and choose who is called, the difference between peoples qualifications and work experience must be minimal.

They took 8 off of it, I checked a few weeks back.

It's worth a call to Revenue to see if there's been any further movement, it is a while since I rang them and they were very helpful. I just don't want to keep contacting them.

I contacted them last week after I posted on here and it seems the panel has moved by about 8 as you said, at least it's started to move!

I'd assume the majority were Dublin but who knows... the waiting game is the worst!

How long is a piece of string, which locations?

I say how long is a piece of string, because vacancies arising will have to be filled from a sequence of open, internal, and interdepartmental panels, and transfers.

Yeah so I hear, it makes it virtually impossible to decide on whether to take a location or not as you've no idea whether other locations will come up within the panel length. I'm very open in terms of location but Dublin for obvious reasons isn't ideal.
