I thought I had this resolve, but obviously not, has anyone brought up a external air supply for a stove up through a cavity of 250mm+ and then turned to a wall vent, air brick.

    Duct is 100mm dia.

I did. Works fine. Obviously it's a tiny cold bridge.

    Thanks 893Bet

Struggling on this, stove supplier isn't much help, and I kinda knew this would be a problem.

    Tifosi,
I have. But not connected yet as build is ongoing so cant comment on its success. It's very hard to get detail on how to correctly do this. You also need to know with some degree of certainty what particular stove you will be using or at least shortlisted them to ensure your piped connection will suit, so looking at their technical details.
We also supplied the air from both directions under the floor as opposed to straight through the wall behind the stove or from one direction only to prevent negative wind pressures effecting draw.

What we have in place rightly or wrongly is a 100mm diameter pipe under the floor insulation/over the slab with a Vertical T connection pipe centerd at the back of the stove. This pipe turns up 90 degrees in the cavity then rises up a few blocks above floor level then turns 90 degrees again out through the outside leaf. The pipe needed to be placed before block work has commenced. It also has a hole at underside in cavity to drain potential condensation. As I said this is our solution endorsed by our Engineer and verified by the stove manufacturer.

Thanks, similar proposal, must be talking the same flue installer.

It was the termination either through the wall, cavity or alternative which was proving a problem.

Architect returned with a telescopic underfloor vent which will allow connection to duct 100mm, 110mm then is routed through the cavity to an airbrick, grille. Either this or want you have done.
