Removing plates and screws from elbow after 10 years

Not sure if this is the right place for this...

10 years ago I broke my elbow and had stainless steel plates/screws added.

The plates have always been an irritant (e.g. can't rest my elbow on a hard surface etc) and my elbow would occasionally flare up if I accidentally hit it off anything, so I finally have an operation coming up to remove the plates/screws.

I have two questions as the surgeon who will be doing the operation isn't contactable until the day of my operation:

    - After the 7 screws have been removed from my arm will my elbow be more vulnerable due to the holes left over?

    - When I had surgery done originally I had about 2 months of physio to straighten my arm, will I likely face this again?

Only your surgeon can answer this, as it all depends on the original injury, how it aligned during the repair and how it healed.
