Thoughts on this? When they say free eir sport, you get 7 free channels?

Ya, eir broadband customers get BT Sports 1, 2, 3, ESPN, Eir Sports 1, Eir Sports 2 & Boxnation. You can view on browser or add to Sky (if you have Sky). Loads of threads about this in the various forums if you need more info on that.

Anybody get this yet... How is it holding up? And is it only the 7 extra channels?

Does anyone know is this still available or for how long it will be available?

Moving next week and would like to avail of this.

What are the terms and conditions associated with this?
Can someone, who is a customer, copy and paste please.
E.g. EIRs usual modus operandi- is to rope you in with a teaser offer for 3-4 months of a 12 month contract and then to jack up the price, sometimes even double it, for the final 8-9 months of the 12 month contract.

I can't see any details of what the terms and conditions on this 'offer' are here- however, unless its 30 a month- for the whole of the 12 month contract- as opposed to for the first 3-4 months- its not necessarily a good deal, you can get better from Sky or even UPC/Virgin

People need to know what the details are- the link in the opening post can only be opened if you actually open an account with Energia- which sort of negates the offer at the first hurdle.

    So-

Platinum deal just for Energia customers:

eir Fibre Unlimited up to 100Mb - Unlimited superfast fibre broadband
Unlimited landline calls to any UK or Irish landlines or mobiles

    No TV, No mobile

€40 for 12 months, €70 thereafter, 12 month contract, only for customers new to Eircom with a valid invitation code from Energia. Landline is a VOIP line, which should not be relied upon for calls to emergency services etc.

No TV or Mobile services are included as part of this bundle.

Seems like a pretty good deal considering the alternatives out there. Only 12 months as well. I've just joined energia and will probably take this offer.

You do get the sports package as part of this.

Eir, Eircom are the worst company in Ireland. You will spend the rest of your life on the phone to them trying to get your bill adjusted only for them to tell you " just pay the full amount this month and we'll take the balance off your next bill ". Anyone I know that has been suckered in by Eir, Eircom with these offers that I warned them not to fall, have confirmed everything I told them about Eir, Eircom within the first one or two bills.

It stuns me that Eircom are still allowed to pursue this practice after all these years without any regulation by the so called " Authorities " of this country.

" The best little country in the world to do business in " ... If you don't want any regulation that is.

ps, I'm with Vodafone broadband only 100mb line, €40 a month + Saorview, Freesat and an Android box...sorted with the same price bill every month.

without TV €40 for 12 mont and a risk of €70 after that (in case u 4got it), is not a good deal in my view.

I dont see the deal here.
Virgin are offering 240 mbps broadband, home phone and tv for 49 per month with a 12 month contract.

plus a 50 euro voucher through their forum.

+ you have the mayhem of having to deal with Eircon

Google Eircom and Court on boards.ie and see the hundreds of posts from people- myself included- who've had massive problems with them in the past.

Great...if you happen to live in the handful of locations where Virgin is available. Not a lot of good if you don't.

The idea that's it's not a good deal in case you forget to cancel it seems illogical to me.

€40 is a competitive price for broadband but if your into sport and throw in the free BT sport and Eir sport channels that are included with Eir broadband and you have a great deal.

BT sports with quite a few Premier League games and all the champions league unavailable on Virgin and imagine costs €20+ on sky. Also as poster above mentioned Virgin not available where I am and hard enough to get internet for €40.

    Agree completely with this.

Right now, I'm paying Eir 35 per month for my phone. That contract is up next week.

I'm paying Sky €70 for broadband and a basic TV package. The full price is €110. That discount/contract is up next month. I can't remember the last time I watched the TV through the Sky box. I use an android box.

With this offer, I can get TV (albeit a terrible Eir TV box - but would be a similar standard to the horrific Virgin Horizon box), mobile, and broadband for €90 per month. That's a great deal when you factor in it includes a few sports channels I'll actually watch regularly.

I'd be saving €270 over the 18 months (excluding an additional €100 I'd save on the phone I'd get under this plan compared to the price offered on my current plan).

I'm in a strange situation where I also have Virgin in a different house, in a different part of the country. Virgin is outstanding for internet. The best, by far. For TV, it's horrific. Their box is a piece of ****. Nobody should have to use it.

Just be aware that Energia limit the discounted KWH's (units). Max you can have at the discounted rate is 3000 Day time units and 2000 Night time units in a 2 month period, excess units over those levels get charged at their standard rates. May impact on some folk.
It is not clear at all in their terms.

    .

well, totally logical for me, 1st - not everyone into Sport, 2nd - there are offers from VM at 49 per month now for more fast BB. (well, i guess - only logical if you have access to VM)
