    hi all,
i'm looking at upgrading the drinking bowls in a slatted house, the one's that are coming out are in there over 20 years & have had their day.

was looking at the La Buvette Bowls from teemore, look a strong bowl, anyone here have them? would you get away with a single between 2 pens or is ther much benefit in a double?
currently have one single between 2 pens & no issue with cattle not getting water

I have them 5 or 6 years, have doubles between each 2 pens. No problems whatsoever.

After getting few of these La Buvette LAC 55 double drinkers into new shed.

    http://www.odonovaneng.ie/product/lac-55/

Never had them before and didnt put them in myself. They're attached to half inch pipe which feeds back off mains connection. Two of them are filling fine (at opposite ends of shed) but two have only very slow flow into drinker. Hope that pressure is ok coming to shed if two are working fine? So wondering if maybe dirt in the others slowing flow.

Can anyone explain (to someone terrible with fixing things) how to go about trying to clear it out? The ballcock comes up from base of drinker so not like anything I'm used to. Thanks!

13 spanner to take off the cover, check the setting of the float first, i.e. slide it up to the highest position. If this is ok, it's probably a bit of grit in the jet.
Flick off the float and take the little black stopper away from the top of the jet.
If you're lucky, poking a bit of wire into the jet will get it going. If this doesn't work you will have to take off the jet, a short 19mm ( I think) spanner is handy for this. Clean the jet and reassemble.

ya also have the double ones between pens, they have a protective surround with is important i reckon, they are good, easy to clean out, you can pop a little lid at the buttom and they empty in seconds, the only problem i see with them is they are quite shallow and i notice my cows tend to splash alot of water out of them when drinking, now that wouldnt be an issue but for my creep gates are at the same pillars as the bowls so where the calves enter and leave tends to get very slobbery with all the water

Thanks. Took the covers off today as you described and floats ok so hopefully bit of dirt/grit. Wasn't sure what to do to try to fix that so thanks v much. Happy with them other than that so far - the separate protector round them looks to be essential.

Just to close out on my earlier query here in case anyone else looking in future. On the ones I have it's the arm of the float that anchors the black cover on top of the jet. You can flick one side of the arm out of its sleeve, slide out the whole float and arm, then pop off the black cover to access the jet. Once I stuck a needle into that to clear out the jet the water nearly hit the roof. Thanks for the help with this.
