My car has started to be a little rough/sticky going in/out of ignition (Honda civic 2015) - would it be ok to put a little wd40 or silicone spray on key and/or in ignition? if it is I have both sprays either one any better?

    thanks

-I dont know how much I'd recommend sticking the graphite directly into the lock !

You can get graphite lubricant from Maplin and probably other DIY shops, seems to be recommended for locks but I've never tried it.

I usually use 3-in-One oil or engine oil on locks. WD40 is not a particularly good lubricant in general, in my experience.

I've got a small plastic squeezy bottle with powdered graphite in it which I use on locks by squeezing some into the lock and then inserting the key back and forth a few times. Works a treat. I've no idea where I got it as it was so long ago, and a little goes a long way.

Use WD40, graphite will eventually block up the ignition.
