That won't help if you have to tow every time to start it.

I'm sure the op will be starting it more than once in 10 months from here on or he'll have the same problem each time. Do you get me?

Yeah,I deleted that as I though he was saying the pinion ring was stuck.Sorry.

So tow it but slow to start with just to get the engine turning over.

Ideally you would take out the injectors and put a few drops of diesel in each cylinder (or a spray I can't remember the name of),and try turn the engine over clockwise by a socket at the frount of the engine.
With out the injectors in ofcorse.
    The crankshaft bolt.

Was the exhaust covered or could there be water down into cylinders??

If you've water down there and try to start could do damage.

If it's stuck tight I don't think I'd tow it to jump start, again it's allot of force to jam into the engine of something is stuck.

I've heard of lads putting them in gear and few lads rocking the rear wheels forward/back, more controlled and less chance of expensive damage.

    Yeah.
You need to just get the engine turning over slowly as it has dry cylinders and no oil in the head before you start it.
Actually most likely no oil all the way down to the crankshaft.

Get a mechanic at it. You might do more harm than good. There may be water in the sump now too, This would damage the transmission filter.

If you put diesel in the cylinders 2 weeks ago and still can't turn the ring gear using a bar i would say it is well and truly seized.. pulling it will cause something to give but it is unlikely to unseize it where you want!
If you are competent, take off the sump and see what is going on in there.
