Has anyone interviewed for a bank officer position with the Central Bank recently? I have an interview next week and would appreciate some advice.

    Thanks.

I did one before but it was a while back.
Prepare STAR format answers (its all online, IIRC its situation, task, action, result or similar), look on the bank's website at the core competencies and principles (I think thats what they're called) and prepare STAR answers for those, you're bound to get at least one asked.
Overall just be relaxed, remember to highlight your involvement in any answer you give (I did, my action). Prep the standard interview questions.
Have a good idea of the different sections of the bank and what they do, have a decent idea of areas that youd be interested in (I say plural as there are multiple spots for BOs to be placed) and have a few questions for them as well.

    Also, best of luck :)

Thanks very much Conor. Are you working there now, if you don't mind me asking?

How do you like it? Are you working in the same area as when you started?

Yeah its nice, the staff are all friendly and the work is very varied depending on what area you're in. I've moved role once so far, its pretty good for being able to prgress if you've got a bit of cop on and are willing to work :)

anyone know what agencies the CB use? I never seem to see bank officer/executive jobs advertised anywhere

The paper indicated they are struggling to fill roles and losing people to churn. They will probably be doing more recruitment.

As far as I know they advertise all jobs directly on their website, no agencies are used except for very senior roles.

Agencies are only used as a fallback. Roles are advertised on the CBI website or the usual job advert websites first.
