homless student grant and dole

    This person is homeless the grant he is getting is 100e a month he apllied for this grant when he was living at home but he has falling out with his parents since he is sleeping outside and sleeping at a friends house somtimes. will he be able to get dole or atleast a better grant as 100 a month is not going well for him if he can get a better grant what money will he be looking at any infromation is apreciated

    Why is he only getting 100 a month? he should be getting that a week if he's under 25 and 193 if he's older. He should make an appointment with his local Intreo centre.

    It's a student grant.

    The homeless issue is seperate to his income. He should present himself to his local homeless organisation and also go on the housing list with his local council. Can he talk to student services in college? They usually have a Hardship Fund where they may be able to provide him with food or support. He will not be entitled to the dole if he is in college fulltime. As far as I know, the grant cannot be amended mid- year. Student services in college is probably the best option for him to find out what he can do financially.
