Has anyone used a hastan escort semi auto before?
    Pros and cons

Thinking about a semi auto for clays/decoying and as a lefty I'm fairly limited in choice, not looking to spend big money.

Any left handed people use a right handed semi auto? Any issues with powder intl the eyes on a windy day?

Three or four lads who are left handed use S/A shotguns in the little clay grounds I visit.
Only one guy had issues, and that was from a particular brand of cartridges. His right eye was getting painful from spent gasses.
He changed to Kent brand, and also started using shooting glasses, and no further problems.

Or take a look at these..

Or look for a classic Ithaca M37 pump action. ejects and loads from the same port in the bottom of the action.
Franchi make the Affinity in left hand ejection as well.

I do using a beretta al391. No issues, dont do a lot of clays though. I suppose it would be an advantage to some extent if it was ejecting on the opposite side.

The gas issue normally happens with the last round being fired and the bolt is held back the gases come out but if you load with 3,fire off 2 the last round cycles into the chamber closing the bolt, just unload the last round and confirm it's safe before coming out of the stand

Remington make left hooker 1100s and 870s.Thing is getting LH guns in Ireland is hard enough work and expect some scalping too because of it. Iticha shotguns are unicorn rare here.I have never seen one here in 40 years of shooting in Ireland. If you do find one.Grab it!They are utter dirt eaters, and will cycle and feed any trashy and ratty ammo that even Mossberg or Remington will choke on.

As a leftie,I have always used right hand ejectors, and have never had any sort of gas blowback on ejection issues with shotguns.

Passed up on an Ithaca 37 many years ago, always regretted it.
Local shop had it, a Winchester 1300 and a Mossberg 600.
Went with the 600, but still think about that 37 .......

I have the Escort MPA 7+1 with 24" barrel RH and can not fault it. I use it for target shooting. Feeds and shoots anything I put through it. Cheap as chips for a semi auto.

I'm a leftie and have had M2s and now an 11/87. I've had no issues with any of them. I always wear safety glasses which no doubt does help with the ejection issues (gas \ dirt etc.)

They do a great leftie M2. However, the market for second hand ones is very small and a RH version will always get a buyer. Something I always keep in mind when buying my 'last ever' gun :D
