Looking for suggestions for casual /part time work ideas? (Not nixers)

I'm in a position where I get a lot of time off between work/shifts.

So I'm looking for suggestions on extra work I could potentially consider (even if it requires doing a course first like TEFL etc.. ) that allows for people to register for casual / cover shifts even with short notice if it come up.

Any decent agencies/companies to sign up to advise you of this time of work?

    Any suggestions would appreciated :)

Train as a care assistant with company like bluebird care- they often need people for odd hours here and there.

How do they advise you if this work available? Is it by text?

I don't know- why not phone and find out. Home instead is another company. I think they both subsidise training so they are alway looking for people.

You could look into the Agri industry, FRS, farm relief services, do a variety of different jobs and some lads/ ladies work with them intermittently, or if you are near any farmers in spring time they're could be work feeding calves etc, may not suit but no harm to check it out

You cant work in Ireland with a TEFL, the qualification needs to be ACELS approved. You could do a CELTA or CELT (cheaper version but just as recognised) the pay is good, like 15 to 20 euro an hour.

You need Fetac Level 5 to do this.

Hi. Could you give me some more details of the process of getting certified teach in Ireland? I did the "old" TEFL course many moons ago and that was all I needed to teach in Italy for a year. Would be very interested in getting re certified. Roughly, what is the time scale to do the new training and the costs involved? Thanks a mill....
