So does anybody here to do extra workout to help with your performance on the bike. Would love to hear about what's good.

I've started doing squats to build up some arse muscle and was thinking of investing in some weights for a bit extra upper body strength.

Core work, and glute activation probably for most people (or maybe just me!). Squats are going to target the quads more than glutes.

    My current routine includes:
Stretch and warmup (crosstrainer or cycle)

    Cardio (rowing and kettlebells)
Core (v hold, flutter kicks, tucks, v hold)

    Leg press (legs/glutes)
    Quad extension
    Hamstring curl
    Calf raise
    Row pulley (upper back)
    Lateral pulldowns

(Weights broken into 3 groups, to be done on different days)

It's rather leg based for the weight exercises, so the row and lats are there for balance.
