Bosses in work- do they "need" an enemy?

Most bosses in a workplace will not enjoy the aspects associated with dealing with troublemakers - disrespect, involving HR, poor performance etc. But I know of a few bosses who actually enjoy having someone they don't like on their team, be it because they know they have more power, deep down they are control freaks etc.
Bosses on Boards- do you prefer an entire team of yes men/women or someone who challenges you?

    I have a small team.

And to be honest with you I don't care about anything other than getting the job done. I'll do whatever it takes to make us keep working, I don't care about power, or respect or recognition.

As long as the monthlies are in on time and projects get managed.

Big difference between someone who challenges you and an out n out trouble maker though.

I had some trouble makers who made my life hell on a daily basis until they parted ways with the company. Now I have people who get the job done and also contribute to the smooth running of the company with suggestions/ideas. Not 'yes men/women' but folk who just get on with it in the right attitude. It's bliss!!:)
