Moving out of the city

    Hi
    I moved to Galway 4 weeks back and got an admission in Year 1 secondary school for my son in Merlin College Doughiska.
    Since then I have been searching for rental accomodations near by and in Galway which are commutable by Public Transport.
    Either the landlords dislike me or I am being unlucky because even after seeing 25-30 properties, none have been offererd to me.
    I can provide every reference except a previous landlord reference because this in my first Ireland visit.
    Dont know if anyone else has gone through the same process and can guide me here.
    I am trying to move to Athenry or Oranmore now because am getting nothing in town.
    Any help or opinions would be greatly welcome

    Do you have a car? Bear in mind that you need to drive to Oranmore train station. There are no footpaths and it is not in Oranmore.

    I haven't lived in Galway in a long time but I always found it a PITA to get accommodation in. Good luck with your search, I don't envy you!
