Best way of approaching dealer when buying car with trade in

    What is the best way of approaching a car dealer when trading in a car

    Is it negotiate the price first and then say that we wish to trade in cars or do we say this up front that we are trading in ? Also do car dealers take in 2 cars we have an 08 Golf and an 05 Civic, later maybe not worth much but possible if scrappage deal on would take that. Not really interested in selling privately as to many tyre kickers etc.

     Any tips advise

    is the civic the last of the old model or the first of the new model?

    You'll be asked if you've a trade in when you're "negotiating".

    Not sure if Civic old model or new model
    Was thinking of saying we have cars for sale privately and have a few people coming to see them so was wondering if you could do anything for us and see how that goes?

    The old model came out around 01 and the new model ran from 05-12
