Wedding Band Suggestions

    Hey!

I am looking for suggestions for a great affordable wedding band that won't cost an arm and a leg. Our wedding is August next year in Cork and some quotes we have received so far are quite expensive e.g. €2600 and €3000 including DJ. Ideally, we we would like to spend no more than €2200 including DJ/Travel.

Has anyone any great suggestions? Hoping to book in the next few months and would ideally like to see them first.

    All advice is welcome!

    Thanks so much.

We've Late Night Radio booked, saw them at a few weddings, they were absolutely brilliant, the dance floor was full all night! Within your budget too!

We had the suite. Really can't recommend them enough. Pure talent, amazing musicians and singers. Everyone loved them, and still go on about them.
After a haggle we got them for what we wanted and it was just under what you are looking for. They travel anywhere in ireland

    You'll find them on facebook

Getting married next year and we've booked The Trips. Seen them live and two friends had them at their weddings, dance floor was full! They are so nice to deal with. They're in your budget too, based on the price we got. They've a website with videos if you want to get an idea of what they're like. Good luck with your search! :)

Had these guys at our own wedding two years ago! Would definitely recommend them! Had the dance-floor full all night and all the lads as mentioned are amazing musicians/Singers!

Best of luck with the search! :D

I booked The Trips for a corporate do. I was worried because I picked them and if they were crap all moans would have been at me.

Best band ever!!! They got a number of bookings from our do and I got lots of kudos for picking them. no regrets.

Professional , friendly, talented musicians great energy , (they run their own music school) would thoroughly recommend. Ive tried to get them twice still since but they've been booked out.

They are much better live than their videos. Would recommend you go to a viewing!

Our wedding band are costing us waaaayyyy less its two guys and they are brilliant I can pm you the name if you want. We had to book a dj separately but even with that the music was under €1,000.
Only thing is Im not sure they would travel to Cork!

I actually can't cope with the price of bands. Some seem ridiculously priced at €3500 to €4000

There has to be decent bands to cater for small / budget weddings surely at half those prices and lower. Right?

Yes there are loads of bands that charge less than 2k who still provide a quality service. 3-4K seems really extreme to me. My own band is in your price range but I don't want to get banned for advertising! Check out the wedding band suggestion thread at the top of the main page, there are bands there and I also posted a link to my own bands website there.

We had Midnight Sounds for our wedding. They were brilliant and had the floor full all night. They tend to offer deals so we got pre-dinner drinks music plus the band for 2,2. Think they offer the same price for Band plus DJ. Well worth a listen. They are playing for a friend of mine in July who heard them at our wedding.

Hope you don't mind op me adding to this, I'm also looking for a band for next year for a wedding in Kerry that's not super expensive.

There are several bands that can sell out venues who also do weddings, perfectly reasonable for them to charge 3/4k, I'm not suggesting they're great value for most people but some people have the budget!!

Obviously some people have the budget. However my point was 3-4k is a little excessive for your common or garden wedding band. I've seen some top class bands that provide a great nights service for around the 2k mark (I should know, I'm in one :)). Of course if people want a specific band and can afford 4k then go for it. It's their wedding!

I was at a wedding spring break played and people still talk about it, definitely worth the money for that couple - there's a difference between having a good night and a memorable/special night!

    Ok....
And I know loads of people who have had cheaper bands (2k region) who said they made their night, and people raved about them.

I'm not really sure what point you're trying to make other than more expensive= Must be better. Maybe we need to charge more if people are really willing to spend 4k!

My point is that a couple can spend what they want on a band, you should charge what you want,

I don't think it's necessary to judge people who spend more on things that are important to them, and I didn't like the comments critising couples who did.

Nobody is judging anybody, come on. People are free to spend what they wish on anything they want, as I said in my posts. However it's about making people aware that not all bands are in the 3-4K range and there are some excellent bands for lower prices. They can then decide themselves having the full info.

You did say it was "extreme", which is what I initially quoted :p

    Best leave it there, haha

Try https://www.groovecollective.ie/. Just saw them mentioned in another post as well. I saw them live before and recommend them as a wedding band. Don't think they are too expensive either but not sure.

Good luck on finding what you are looking for!

as I always like to say on here, theres 3 types of bands, good, cheap and available.
Unless you get really lucky or book 2 years in advance, you only get to pick 2 of those.

I agree mostly, but I'm really not arsed getting into this again. A someone who plays at 80+ weddings a year I was just trying to give a personal viewpoint. Book early!
