    This query may have been answered elsewhere - - though I could not find it
    Query
    Are new or existing upgrades on Commercial Office Buildings required to comply with Part L air tightness ? -

    Not yet but they will be soon as part of the new NZEB requirements. Keep in mind that government occupied buildings come in first so if you ever expect to rent to them then you'll need to comply earlier. You're far better off complying as it's only 5 ach and when you consider a passive house is 0.6 ach it's not that hard to achieve.

    Currently any building going through the design process should comply, as by the time planning and construction commences, it may be a requirement anyhow.

    Public Consultation on the new Part L for commercial development ended a week or 2 ago, so expect a new Part L soon.
