    Help please.

Thanks but I've done all that. I'll go through all the steps again when I get a chance just to be sure.

There is a prog in here somewhere.......too tired to find it but it sorted it for me a few months back. It adds Take Ownership to right click and after that the program can be run as admin.

I've tried all the suggested methods but still can't run file as administrator. I can do it in safe mode but the page won't scroll.

Can you try using this tool from Nirsoft?

    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/advanced_run.html

Any details on what file you're trying to execute?

Can you give more details about the file?

Where it's located (local or on a shared drive).

Was it downloaded by you or someone else?

Move the file out to another folder

The downloaded file may be corrupt, try downloading again.

So, the file is automatically downloading to a users' downloads folder?

In the browser can you change it to ask you when downloading the file and save it to the desktop and try to run it from there?

On the start menu, or wherever you can search on the version of Windows you're on, type "user accounts".

Here you should see the admin account and it's level of access.

Are you running anti-virus software? These can sometimes screw up exe files.
