Some areas of the silage ground is fairly badly effected with the above two weeds would it be OK to cut and include these in the bales. They will be fed to sheep would they just eat around them or what other options are available. I was thinking of cutting them with a slash hook and then removing them so they wouldn't be as high when cutting. Is spraying an option? Thank you

If your not cutting for a few weeks you could weed lick them with forefront. I know there's people would disagree, but it worked for me.

It will be at least another 6-8 weeks. Sorry now for being stupid but would they not still be in the bales if they were sprayed. Would grazon 90 do the job

Spot sprayed silage ground and then baled the grass. The thistles and nettles were dead but were still baled up. The main thing is their dead before they shed and seeds.

If they're baled sheep will leave the thistles behind them.
If feeding inside I'd be tempted to leave them depending on the density of them

if its 6-8 weeks they will be well gone. im not talking about blanket spraying, its weed licking im on about. done a field a few weeks back and they are nearly all curled up and another week and i reckon they will be well on the way to gone.

Would spot spraying do the same job?

Grazon wipes them out here but it's too dear to use all over, ideal for spot spraying

Field is about 7acres. Too many in the field to spot spray. Is it possible to hire a weed wiper ?

Is blanket spraying before cutting recommend anymore?
Does it stunt the yield much?
