Data protection on cv's

Recently I left a CV into a workplace, people I know but wouldn't be overly friendly with them who work there (they are only staff they are not managers or anything of the like) looked at my CV and told me that I was 'thick' due to my leaving cert results. I am not happy with this only management should be looking at my CV, deeply hurt and distressed by this (I know I didn't do well in my leaving, people tell me to forget it but it really hits home when people comment on it) I was just wondering would I have any action against the person who viewed my cv when they were not to do so?

You could make a complaint against the company, not the person.

That's a really s**te thing for them to do. Just remind them that if they breathe a word of this again, their employer will be in bother with the DC and that their jobs would be on the line.

Hmmmm, if it's a small company maybe they share too much around the staff. Maybe the boss asked them if they knew you and could recommend you. Passing round the CV is a bit much though..

Anyway, I never include my leaving cert results for two reasons.
    1. They were crap
    2. They are irrelevant

Interviewers usually decide within the first 30 seconds if you're a nice person/good fit for the job over your leaving cert results and abilities.

Don't worry about what people say, they're just trying to wind you up..
