    Hi,

    I need some advice.

I have a 99 Honda Prelude, which is Red, however very badly faded. Almost white in places. It also has some laquer peeled off the wing. The car is solid, and has only 40k Genuine miles.

If i wrapped the car would this cover the peeled laquer?

    And which would people recommend.

Thanks in advance. Any advice well be appreciated.

Not DIY effort, moved to main forum.

Wrap is the easy way to sort this. Check with local companies for opinions and quotes.
You can even wrap it yourself, did you intent to do this?

Ah yes, Honda pink. :) Wrap sounds like a plan. Far cheaper too I'd imagine? My only concern with a wrap would be rust. Hondas of that age are near guaranteed to have some rust hiding away, usually in the rear quarters, wheel arches and sills. Wrapping the car could hide all sorts of bubbling nastiness that would be spotted on paint.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Get the wing repainted and get the rest of the car polished, I know it will fade again eventually but with a little maintenance the results can be long-ish lasting

Wrapping won't hide rust bubbles, in fact it will
magnify any imperfections underneath it, same
    for peeling lacquer.
If vinyl is fitted to peeling lacquer then the
vinyl may lift with the lacquer. My advice, sand
    and paint.

A budget paint job would be far better than a wrap in my opinion!
1500 would get it painted to a respectable level!

Strip it down fully, sand, fill, respray.
    Future classic.

    Hi everyone,

    Thanks for all the replies.

I have decided to get a full exterior respray. I am going to keep to the original red.

I am just about to order a set of bumber lips and skirts, The only ones I can find are Fiber Glass, as i am new user i cannot paste link to kit. They are on ebay from a polish company. CLC ( car loving criminals).

Has anyone any experience with their kits?

Once car is sprayed. I am going for a nice 17 5 spoke rim, and that it. Hopefully she will turn out nice.

Can anyone recommend a good panel beater in Donegal?

    Thanks for all the advice.

I will attach pics as i go.

    Cheers
