Magic Mouse: right click no longer works

I recently dug out my old Magic Mouse (first gen) and have encountered a weird problem. The right click is no longer working. What's weird is that if I switch the secondary click to the left side in Mouse preferences, both sides work fine. The double tap (for Mission Control) also isn't working, but scrolling and page swipe gestures work fine.

I've tried deleting Bluetooth and mouse preferences with no success. I've also tested it on another Mac with the same problem.

    Any ideas?

    Google threw up this one:
I went into System Preferences, Mouse>Preference> and disabled "Secondary click". Then restarted the system. Then returned to System Preferences, Mouse>Preference> and re-enabled Secondary Click. That worked and was my solution and has been working fine since yesterday.

Thanks Paddy but I tried that and no luck. Scrolling on the left side doesn't work at all (only on the right), so I reckon there's a problem with the touch capacitive sensors that detect your finger. A battery probably leaked and corroded it. It works fine otherwise so I'll probably make do or pick up a cheap Logitech mouse.
