As far as I'm aware, it's only available to those that have been unemployed for some time, could be wrong though. Best of luck

You would need to give better details about your education history to assess your eligibility for further funding.

hi guys, I just finished a 2 year vtos course and I am heading to DCU this September. When I finished my Vtos payments a few weeks ago I had to sign onto jobseekers until I go to college in September. I will then be going from Jobseekers(3 months) to back to education allowance. In the meantime I was told to look for work. The problem is that if I get a job and leave jobseekers I wont be eligible for Back to education allowance. Any ideas on what I should do?
    Thanks in advance.

I stand open to correction, but I think you wont be eligible. I had a similar problem in I was told not to while they looked into it. Uni starts up in one month so I'm guessing they wont be getting back to me

Don't get work. Only option. It's a ridiculous system.

Hi, I went to the intro office and they told me to go ahead and take a job if I can. they said that it will not affect my qualifying period when I apply for Back to education allowance. I guess they know best.
