Youth internship

I'm currently in receipt of DA. A few weeks back I popped into my local employability facilitator and enquired about getting some work experience they suggested I do a 3 month internship. I started a 'trial week' last week . I met with my employability officer last week and he informed me that all my documentation has been sent off to the dept of social protection and my internship is officially due to start on the 19th June. He is now away on holiday for 2 weeks.

The role is in a busy office environment and it feels like a pressuring job. The place is very badly run with.nobody having a defined position i.e marketing worker is also in charge of handling incoming and outgoing orders as well as working in production. Communication between higher management and employees is non existent. Ive also been told that there has been a high turnover of staff. I have made the decision that I would like to leave and go back to college in September to do a add on course to the one I have already completed.

How should I go about leaving? Will I contact DA myself and tell them I no longer wish to proceed with my internship? As I said in the above the employability office is on holiday for 2 weeks so no way of contacting him
