Anyone know where I can get one of these in Ireland?

You'll be better off just learning to play on a square gate. Especially if you plan on attending events. At some point something will go wrong with your stick, and nobody else will have one with an octo-gate to borrow.

I only play casually, found one at http://www.arcadewinkel.nl/

You can't buy arcade stick stuff offline in Ireland.

I would second Chopper, there's absolutely no benefit to using an octogate but it does mean you won't be ever able to use another stick again without modding it.
