Very short and very strange sequence in The Shining, there's a few blink and you'll miss it scenes in this movie including some that are almost subliminal. Can anyone think of similar scenes in movies that you'll miss if you pop out to the loo?

Never mind going to the loo, you could easily miss this by blinking...

For some reason in Apocalypto, Mel Gibson supposedly added a "Wheres Waldo" lying with the dead!

David Fincher added a few subliminal flashes of Brad Pitt's Tyler Durden character into various early scenes in Fight Club:

I only found out fairly recently that among the creepy images that pop up during the tunnel boat sequence in Willy Wonka is a clip of a chicken being beheaded, never noticed that during the countless times I saw it in my childhood but it might have been cut for TV screenings.

It's here at the 1.05 mark.

Scene during Jurassic Park : The Lost World. I spotted the Arnie as King Lear poster when I watched JPTLW in the cinema but didn't know about the Robin Williams one till I looked this up just now. Easy to miss, you only see them for a split second before the T-Rex attacks.

The overexcited red haired extra who appears in the crowd cheering on The Ghostbusters in the original film. He pops up a couple of times.

In terminator 2, the t-1000 creates an arm out from his belly to control the helicopter, while he reloads the submachine gun with his other 2hands. Lasts about 2 seconds but it's that attention to detail that made Cameron my fav director.

Isn't there a scene toward the end of Teen Wolf where an extra in a crowd has his lad hanging out?

I remember watching Fight Club for the first time at home and thought I was going mad when I kept seeing the word cuts!

Ted Danson's cardboard cut out in 3 Men and a Baby is another one, often rumoured to be a ghost!

Fun fact.. Verne is actually in dire need of going to the bathroom but didn't want to break the scene so is trying to signify to someone off camera that he needs to go

Not film but in The Young Ones there's a mysterious "fifth housemate" figure who can be seen crouching in the shadows in a few episodes.

No, it looks like him but it appears in other shots where Neil is there too.

    ^^ Interesting. From Wiki:
In the first six episodes of the series, a person whose hair covers their face appears in the background of some scenes, such as to the left when Neil gets hit by Vyvyan with a kettle in "Bomb". In the episode Demolition he appears slumped against the back wall when Rick is watching TV. These rumours of a mysterious fifth housemate have been the subject of fan speculation on the internet. In 2016 journalist Peter Farquhar sent members of the cast and crew email enquiries about this unnamed character. Writer Ben Elton replied saying "I have no idea what you are talking about I'm afraid..." but Geoff Posner, one of the directors of the series replied saying that he and Paul Jackson "thought it would be fun to have some ghostly figure in the background of some scenes that was never explained or talked about..."

And of course the movie also featured a shocking blink-and-you'll-miss-it scene of actual physical assault against a minor.

It's up there with the stormtrooper smacking his bonce in A New Hope.

Of course, neither were intentional and probably don't count for this thread.

Lucas, in one of his many 'special edition' re-releases of the Star Wars trilogy, added in sound effects (the helmet hitting the door and a groan) to make it appear as if it were a scripted and intentional part of the film.

Carl Weathers Death Scene in Predator.

As the Predator kills him and hoists him up in the air a few feet you can blatantly see a wooden seesaw lifting him up :pac: But the shot quickly cuts to an up close faceshot of Weathers then screaming.

It's been removed from the DVD and BluRay releases (They zoom in) But it's funny because the Special Effects team went to a lot of work to camouflage the Predator in the shot, but not the seesaw and it really stands out once you see it.

    Edit
Tried to find footage online but couldn't.

Are you confusing him with the another character? I didn't think Predator lifted him up.
Carl Weathers had his arm shot off didn't he? You can see it tied behind his back when they change angle.

Never mistaken when it comes to predator :pac: amazing movie.

But weathers gets his arm blow off, as you say, but as he tries to take off his other machine gun that's wrapped around his neck, the predator comes at him and stabs him with his claw. Lifting him up in the air a bit.

It's a shame they took the seesaw out of the dvd release because it's a really great 'once you see it'.

I remember some christian bunch in the states raising a stink about that and about supposed subliminal messages in it, supposedly there was some hidden message telling kids to have sex or something like that. It was not too long after that nonsense about heavy metal albums containing satanic messages when played backwards.
