New Scirocco or old A5

I'm looking at a new car with a c. 30k budget. In my previous threat I suggested that I wanted a small car but I've decided on the not so small options above and the other thread went a bit off topic.

Any thoughts between a brand new scirocco and and older audi such as an A5? For example the below?

I tend to prefer petrols and generally do less than 10k km per year. Most of the audis I come across are diesels with serious mileage clocked up, I'm not sure how I feel about them.

Is the low mileage short trips in town or is it due to weekend use with longer spins? If it's short trips a petrol would be a better buy. At 30k you could get a decent second hand A5, a BMW 4 series would be more comparable to it than a sirocco I'd think? Such as this http://m.beshoffmotors.ie/viewanad.php?ad_id=1767165&r=
But if the question is new versus second hand I guess it depends on condition of car and warranty offered for the second hand one.

Scirocco is ancient at this stage, it's based on the Mk6 Golf that was really a Mk5 Golf which was launched 13 years ago. Also if your doing less than 10k miles per year why would you even be considering a diesel car.

Do you need alot of space? If not then maybe look at one of these:

I did say my preference was for petrol.
They are 2 very nice cars you have pointed out in fairness!

The best thing to do would be to test drive as many as possible. You might be surprised by how much it changes your opinion.
