Buses pulling out from junctions delaying traffic?

    I've noticed this a lot

Driving along approaching a junction and a bus pulls out and turns forcing traffic to slow down rapidly

Do they have a special privilege that allows them to drive like this where a motorist can't?

    How do you navigate junctions?
Do you sit there or do you pull out of junctions?

    Expect the unexpected!
Traffic is at fault they haven't antispiated the bus is pulling out of junctions.

Iirc their only privilege is at bus stops that you (mr/miss public) leave them back into traffic.

You don't even need to let them back into traffic when they are at a bus stop, it's just good manners to.

There is a crowd called JMCoach I think it is. Every time I see one of their buses it is crawling at the head of a massive queue caused by them.
Usually heading out the m4 at home time or coming in the n4 in the mornings.
    50kph max, very frustrating.

They pull out because a lot of people won't let them out.

Buses are better than cars in most ways so be extra nice to them, thanks.

My opinion is that buses and large trucks should be given extra leeway, I don't think it's warranted that some people freak out if for example a truck blocks a lane for a moment because they need additional room to make a turn.
They are also just longer vehicles and less agile, so it takes them more time to make a maneuver, which you need to account for.

I've heard a rumour that fully laden buses don't do great 0 - 100km/h times. Can't confirm, but there might be something in it.

Having driven buses for the last year on and off, it's incredible how a lot of car drivers react to large vehicles.

Yes, we need to swing wide to take certain turns, just wait the 3 seconds it takes.
No, we can't accelerate as fast as you.. deal with it.
Yes, it's nice to let a bus/truck out, don't forget many are under time pressure.
No, do not pull out under me just because you're afraid of being stuck behind me.. passengers don't like sudden braking.
Yes, realise that you don't own the road, and that large vehicles need that bit of extra space.

Now there are bad bus and truck drivers, but some of the crazy stuff car drivers have done to me is scary, including cutting me off twice during my bus driving test
