E90 BMW rear caliper sticking

    Hey guys,

My passenger side rear caliper is sticking on my '05 E90 320D causing the brake pad to wear off and wheel wobble. Mechanic unstuck it a few weeks ago but it's back acting up. There's a breaker '07 318D not far that I can get the caliper off cheap. Anyone know if this would fit the 320D, I assume it should as they're both pre LCI? Finding part numbers online to compare is a bit of a nightmare so thought I'd ask here.

    Cheers.

Tbh, an old breaker's caliper could just be as much trouble as the one you have.
I'd look at 1) a new caliper, or 2) get current one refurbed with new piston and seals.

Micksgarage prob have new calipers for sale, have a look.
Last time I got a caliper refurbed it was 130 euro.

Since you are not actually doing this DIY I am moving this thread out of the DIY forum.

Don't get used tyres and don't get used brake parts. Either buy new or repair what you have...

    Thanks lads,

I never even thought of the repair kit, I'll try that first and if all else fails I'll just buy new.

Note that repairing it yourself without proper tools can be difficult.
Just getting the rusty/pitted piston out can be tricky, you'll need compressed air or similar and even then it can be a bastard to get the old piston out.

You can easily install a new caliper yourself - but if you go with refurbing, let a pro do it.
