How I can get my liability confirmation

    Good Afternoon,


    I was renting flat in Dublin for 10 months. At the very beginning my landlord told me I do not need to worry about the water meters/bills, but now he is refusing to give me my deposit back claiming he needs confirmation of my liability at this address from the Irish Water.

    I neither paid for the water nor have any account with you. Can you please let me know how I can deal with that? I'm not in that flat anymore and already left Ireland - are you able to help me in this situation? The deposit is very high and I still hope I can have it at least partially returned.

    I'm not sure if the PM is working well. Anyway you are asking me to provide account number and WPRN for the address. However, as mentioned earlier my landord (Comer Property) never gave me this numbers and I never get any bill on this address to check it. I'm still trying to get this from the Comer, but is it any other way we can solve it? Looks like now my landlord wants something from you and you can not deliver it because landlord didn't provide the required information - I'm a bit lost here.

    So, I got answer from 2 parties now and no idea how to move it forward:
    From the Irish water:
    Hi Tomasz,

    Would you mind confirming the Account Number or the WPRN associated with the property?

    We are having difficulty locating your account under the system.



    From the landlord:

    Dear Tomek,

     

    The landlord would not have been notified of the WPRN, only the occupier.

     

    The full address should be sufficient for Irish Water to locate.
