We have a JVS TV - an old one.. and we are with virgin media for channels..
RTE 2 is not working for us - but all the other channels are

Would this be a TV problem or a TV station service provider (VM) problem?

Moved to Terrestrial TV, more likely to get an answer here.

This sounds like an issue with the tuner on the TV or the set top box depending on how it's wired up.
I moved it here because you're more likely to find someone who knows the issue and can help you to resolve it.

ok thanks.. in either of the 2 scenario's you mentioned, who would we get to fix it/them?

If you own the hardware, you, if you rent it, them.
Check if there are any on-line manuals on how to check the tuning of the channels, it may be as simple as retuning the channel.

Are these the channels you're receiving from Virgin, if so which block?
    or

How many channels do you have available to you from Virgin?
    RTÉ2 is in both blocks.

Just to be 100% clear, you change channels on the TV itself, and don't use a Virgin/UPC/NTL digital box with its own remote?

As in you have analogue (or CATV) channels with no digital box being used.

    OP

    Do you have:
    1. a tv box from Virgin/UPC -connection from wall point through Virgin/UPC tv box to telly
    2. a cable running directly from wall point on your wall to the actual telly?

Answer that and someone will pop along and tell you how to fix (hopefully)

Basic analogue TV package with approx. 15 channels
    or
Basic digital TV package with a Virgin Media cable box attached to the TV with lots of channels

Then it's a Virgin media problem. Unplugging the digital box for a while and then plugging it back in and turning back in may fix it.
