Peugeot 208 or Pulsar? 25k budget

    Hi

I posted on the small car 30k thread, but decided to post my own thread.

We need a new car. Our Fiesta is great, but now beginning to show signs of age. Deciding between a 208 Allure (which you seem to get a lot of car for the money) or a Pulsar (more space, more expensive, but my husband's choice).

Not going for another Fiesta as Ford seem to price like BMW these days. Basic car, but you pay PLENTY for extras like paint/ AC that sort of thing.

    Any opinions gratefully accepted.

    TIA

    A 206? 208 maybe? Pulsar is a relatively new model, 206 is from 1998

Would love a Mini Cooper, but waaay out of my league! :D

The 208 is a class below the Pulsar in terms of size (would compete with the first), the 308 would be in the same class as the Pulsar.

What's the budget and do you want/need a bigger car than the Fiesta?

Minis come in on all budgets these days.

208 looks great value. Even allure and specced up should come in more like 19k than 25k. With scrappage.

Then you've around 5 grand to spend on holidays.

I think they are, yes. A comparable spec Fiesta to the Allure comes in about 22k.

If the only reason you arnt going ford again is price then,
Ford are doing good deals at the mo.
4000e off the top spec focus titanium works out around 23000 on their site and 4300e off the focus st line, which comes to about 22500 on their site.

Top spec focus is in a different league than both cars you have mentioned.

Edit: also you get 3 years free motor tax and a 7 year warranty with it too

Now you said it was looking at a new Mondeo company car a few years back and actually thought the same- spec was measly and missing some stuff the others (6, Insignia, Passat) had all in.

Fiesta is being replaced by a new model in the next month or two also.
