Can't find source of water entering car

Have a 2007 new shape Ford Mondeo Hatchback. Recently whenever I open the back doors, a pool of water is sitting between the seal and plastic on the car. It is now flooding the footwells and there is also a pool of water under the spare wheel in the boot. I've taken the car to a panel beater and he cannot find how the water is entering the car. I did purchase the car from him initially. Hardly crashed was it?

Could well have been crashed. Who knows!
The earliest of that model Mondeo had an issue where the design of the boot door caused water to enter the cabin when the boot was opened, there are also instances where the rear washer hose splits and wets from the headlining down into the car. You should also check the runner grommet that goes around the rear wiper.

If there is a rubber bung in the boot floor, pop this out for the time being as sitting water will cause damp issues elsewhere.

Get some smoke pellets, they will show where there is a gap.

That was the norm for the new Mondeo I purchased in 08 too!Water always collected near the bottom seals of the rear doors.Mine was a hatchback, and if you opened it while it was raining,a fair bit of water ended up in the boot.

Not the same car, but the last time my car was leaking it was damaged sealing around the boot.

There's vents under the back bumper that fail and let water in. A friend had the very same problem a couple of months ago

If you bought it from a panel beater it more than likely was in some sort of crash!

If water is sitting on the plastic when you open the doors it generally means the cover behind the door card is torn and/or the drains in the door are blocked.
