    Quite happy, I actually finished the paper. :rolleyes:

    Sort of glad no novels came up.

    Wasn't fond of the play question and was surprised that no novel question came up but overall it was quite a broad paper. I found the last question about writing a script funny.

    Disliked the final question, I too got it all finished within the allocated time. Lets not linger on the tests until they're all over.

    This paper proves that the subject of English has been devalued and downgraded. The paper does not reflect the depth and breadth of the course or the importance of the subject. English has now been reduced to a two- hour exam which includes tick the box answers and multiple choice questions. Discuss two poetic techniques from one poem is awarded 40 marks? Two questions on POSTERS worth 40 marks!
    LIST 5 adjectives to describe a chosen character! Read and analyse dialogue for Sections A and C and write dialogue for Section D - that's focus on dialogue for 3 of only 4 sections! Throw in a five mark tick the box apostrophe question just for the craic and then scan in the papers to be corrected online by PMES and NQTs - no experience required.Reward the students with "Descriptors". A student who attains 85% to 89% will now receive the second tier award of "Higher Merit" as opposed to an "A" grade in all other subjects. The assessment of Junior Cycle English is not sound and is far from the concept of reform.
