Plaster behind kitchen units

I will be installing warmboard slabs and then fixing the kitchen units to this wall. The original idea was that the splashback area would be all tiled so I was going to tile straight to the slab but now she doesn't want tiles but a plaster finish for the splashback, so do you just skim the splashback area after kitchen units installed or should you skim the full wall before installing the kitchen units.

    Skim the full wall.

The costs of the full wall aren't going to be significantly more than part of the wall. The plasterer has to get gear, travel, set up, plaster / wait / finish/tidy up and travel home. It's a fractional amount more time to do the lot than just a little.

Our plasterer skimmed to just below the worktop line - didn't really question it, but seemed ok - Id imagine there wouldn't be much difference in cost, but no big deal either way.

I would say tho - just make sure its done before the units as its messy as hell.
