Had a smear test 3 weeks ago and still no results, is this normal. Do they normally write to you or do you have to contact your doctor?

They will send the results to the GP who took the test. I cant remember how long it takes.
Ask your GP if the results have arrived

There was a thread in PI about a month ago http://touch.boards.ie/thread/2057731779/1

The general guideline was 6-8 weeks.

It can take up to four to six weeks. It honestly depends on the volume going to the lab. Also, its is the start of the summer holidays time from the start of May so there is slightly less staff. The delay is not any indication on the result and sometimes someone who went for there two days after you can get there result before you.
