Difference between dental bonding and a composite veneer?

Hi guys, I've tried Googling but no joy - what's the difference between dental bonding (ie to build up a small tooth) and a composite veneer? Are they one and the same but the veneer just uses more product? Or does a composite veneer require drilling down the natural tooth like other veneers do?
