Anyone know of a free Print to JPG printer?

Need to find a free Print to JPG printer that I can install which doesn't come with adware. Need to "print" MS Word documents to jpg format (3rd party will only accept JPG's).

    Anyone have any ideas?

Using 32bit version of Office 2010 on a 64bit Windows 7 if it makes any difference.

A JPG wont support pages so unless its all single page documents this starts getting very messy.

If you have access to Photoshop you can print to PDF within chrome then batch out each PDF into JPG pages.

Or a long winded (depending on number of pages) workaround would be to use the Snipping Tool in Win 7 and capture each page as a jpeg?

It would only be the one page bring printed to the PDF.

The machine in question won't have Photoshop on it, unfortunately.

Although I do this on anther screen with a larger screen, if I do it with the machine in question, the outputted picture is too low resolution to make anything of the print.

Save the Word file as a PDF which should be an option in Word 2010? Then in Adobe Reader, use the "Take a Snapshot" tool by clicking and dragging it across the page.

Zooming in before you use the tool gives a quasi higher resolution. Paste the copied image into Paint and save as JPG or whatever

If the data isn't sensitive and you can save them as PDFs I could batch convert them in Photoshop for you if you like.

Ghostscript includes a jpeg output format as well as many others.
You could use redmon to redirect a printer into using it.

Here's an old example of doing the same thing with PDF output.

The best free thing I can think of is MS paint, screenshot your page then paste, chop out any excess mess and save as JPEG.

pdfforge has option to save to png/jpg/tiff and others. And much, much more...

    http://www.pdfforge.org/

Download PDFCreator for that page and untick PDFArchitect during installation.

It uses AGPL (Open source) licence :-)

It'd be a daily thing, and as the data would be sensitive, I wouldn't be able to use the online converters. It would be used within a business, so although I have found one that was free, it needs a commercial license.

Seems the phrase of what I'm seeking is a; virtual image printer

Something similar is being done currently with the snipping tool, but I'm looking for something with less steps, to ensure less screw-ups.

Although the redmon readme file says "Configuring `RedMon` is not a job for novices" :D but it seems I'll have to read up on it, to see if it'll output into MSPAINT.

When I researched it, many of the reviews on https://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/pdfforge.org caused me to ignore the software, as they all warned of adware being installed with it.

OK, that's strange :-) I use it for over a year and I have to say that while the PDFArchitect (instalator tries to install it by default) is something that I didn't ask for it's not adware by any stretch of imagination. And you can easily disable the installation or remove it after the installation is finished.

That adware comment is from 2010 - maybe it was true back then. Anyway I can recommend it and I use it at work almost every day.

Edit: And 2014 - Anyway I haven't seen any ads, unwanted bars or opencandy.
Edit1: I just updated it to the latest version. I tried to install PDFArchitect by default, but I just clikcked "no thanks". WARNING: At the very end of installation it asked to install some "Internet security" thing!!! :-/

Does the initial work have to be done in Word?

Irfanview can open PDFs and save as JPEG.

That may be so, but can't print to it.

In that case I have no idea what you're trying to do

What type of file do you want to end up with at the end of the process?

Print from a Word document to a JPG. Seems what I need is a virtual image printer.

What's the difference between printing to a JPG and saving a document as a JPG?

Apologies if I'm missing something obvious...

Not sure if this helps or not, but we use a program called omniformat from http://www.omniformat.com/. The program when running "watches" a folder. Any PDF dumped into that folder is automatically converted to jpg (there are other output options also). So if you print your office document to PDF and then copy it into the folder it is automatically converted to jpg.

We use it for our projectors. Users convert Office documents to PDF and then drop them into the folders to get the document displayed on our projectors.

The program is only $9.95 to buy.

    MS Word can save the document as the following;

    419378.png

As JPG isn't one of them, the other option is to send it to something that will convert it into a JPG. Going the virtual printer route, as once setup it's usually fairly easy to use.

3rd party company refuses anything but jpg "as everyone else can send the jpg".

The question was why not publish a PDF from word and convert the PDF to JPEG.

We understand you are looking for a JPEG at the end. You'll need to consider not doing it within Word.
