Ski holiday for 2 weeks in December / XMas?

We normally skive off to SE Asia for the month of December, but for a total change we were thinking of heading skiing for 2 weeks over XMas / New Years.

I have done ZERO research on this.

    1) Is it feasable? (I know people normally say 'in season' is around March time)

    2) Is it affordable? I know this is a huge open ended question. I guess my question is "is it peak time?"

I'll get Googling but just checking if anyone here had any basic information.

It is possible. Not sure if feasible though. The last two years have had a slow start to the european ski reason so if you're booking in advance aim for one of the particularly high resorts. You will need lifts that go above 2500m and ideally above 3000m to be sure of snow at that time of year.

I doubt its really affordable as the week between Christmas and new years tends to be high season and one of the more expensive weeks to go.

two weeks is a long ski trip. skiing is great but it's still long - you might need a break in between and there is not much to do in ski resorts outside skiing except drinking and going to the spa.
most places want you to book a full week (from one Sunday to check out the next Sunday morning and particularly from Christmas to new year). Christmas to new year week is a busy week on the slopes - assuming there is snow of course and it's peak price. The week after that will be cheap.
As said you're not guaranteed snow at that time of year and winters have been mild recently.
Even if you're in a high resort and there is snow up top the skiing may be limited as the lower parts may not be open or in poor condition.
