    Hi

Im in the process of building a new patio. I have the area dug out and have already whacked the base with some stone I picked up from my own garden and neighbouring farm. I want to put 804 crushed stone onto it now.

Can you advise if my calculations are correct?

    length: 6.8m
    width: 4.6m

I want to fill to a depth of 10cms with stone when whacked and then put sand on top and then patio flagstones.

Am I correct in thinking that I need around 5 tons of 804?

How much is it per ton?

Any recommendations where to get in Sth Wexford area most welcomed.
    Thank you

I get 6.2 using the calculator here

    http://www.pavingexpert.com/calcall.htm

By the way if you haven't been through that website it contains the most incredible wealth of information by one of the foremost experts in the field. Well worth reading.

A few years ago I bought 14 tonne from a quarry and paid €240 delivered. Sorry, not near you but you're best contacting a local quarry to enquire.

Watch out for the distribution of bigger lumps to fines. If you end up with too many voids you can fill with grit sand as advised here

Might not be any use to you but as a guide I paid €43 for a tonne bag in local builders providers.
I would expect bulk purchase to get you a much better price.

I got 6 ton (and a little extra) delivered for €145. Happy with that.

    The wheelbarrow is on overdrive!
