Power of Attorney and JSA

    So,

After looking into things, I believe there's an option for me to get power of attorney to allocate a family member to collect my dole for me. The DA will take too long to setup and I'm in no state to jump through the many hoops that are required to do so.

Has anyone gone through this process? Do you know whether or not an interim letter can be setup by a solicitor to let the Social Welfare know that this is being done, so the power given over to a family member can be expedited?

    Thank you,

Yup, agents are usually nominated for receipt of disability allowance, pension etc. where the beneficiary is in a hospital or nursing home. It's the son or daughter collecting the pension for the auld wan in the home. Or the mum / dad collecting for the paraplegic son. Those scenarios.

    According to this

it would be for up to three weeks for non-long term payments like JA / JB.

And Power of Attorney has far greater legal powers than a DSP approved agent.
