Dpc concerns on flush level floor living room to patio.

    Hi all
    A quick outline:
I'm thinking of laying a stone patio that will be flush with the inside height of the floor level. This is so in the future I will be replacing a window with French doors so there will be no change in floor level from the wooden floor in the living room to the patio area in the back garden, the patio will be sloped away from the house for water run off.
    My concern is the dpc.
Do I have to run dpc up the wall "vertically" (stuck to the back garden wall) or what way do I do it?
Should I have a linear drain running the full width of the patio between the patio and the back house wall?
I'm not sure how to attach a drawing, but the back garden slopes towards the house (high point of garden is away from house low point is next to house) towards a 10" retaining wall, then there is a concrete path about 2.5m wide then the back wall of the house.
Thanks for the help, and if I've posted this in the wrong area, mods feel free to move it.
