eBay seller ionorchard

    Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help answer this question

Bought a phone off this seller on eBay 'ionorchard', and it said item location 'Dublin'. After further checks, it looks like this seller is based in Singapore. I don't want to be caught for customs or the item will cost me more than I could have got it for here!

    Does anyone know?

As an aside, I was going to buy off someone so emailed seller 5 minutes after paying for item and said I'd changed my mind and wanted a refund but got email to say item was dispatched this morning so I guess it's too late now! :0(

I bought off this seller a few weeks ago. I got an LG v20 from them and while they are registered in Singapore, their devices come from Manchester so no customs.
I was less then impressed with their customer care. Their add states 30 day money back guarantee and a 12 month warranty. I contacted them as the LG v20 was developing issues. They replied that they would offer me 5 euro to take it to my local repair shop. I nearly chocked on the sandwich I was eating. I replied that 5 euros would do nothing and this was a terrible solution. What's the point of a 12 month warranty if you offer 5 euro in compensation. Plus I'm a phone repair technician myself and this phone couldn't be fixed in Ireland. They replied by offering me 8 euro..
Needless to say I've opened a dispute with PayPal..

Thanks, not exactly music to my ears :-(

Perhaps if it's only Manchester, I will be able to return it without too much cost. Why does it say item location 'Ireland' then? I should have done more research.

Fingers crossed I don't experience issues with my phone when I get it :/

Did you receive the phone in the end? How was it if so?

PayPal tends to side with the buyer quite easily, so for the price this ebay shop might be worth it.
If the phone's a dud, PayPal should refund.

I once did something similar. Ordered a Nokia N86 from an eBay seller which claimed to be in Manchester. But the phone was a Chinese model, complete with Chinese keypad and firmware (the FM transmitter function was disabled in the Chinese firmware). I ended up just flashing it with the UK firmware but I wasn't happy that the seller claimed to be UK based and was not.

I had contacted the seller immediately (after receiving an email notification that it was despatched!) and said I had wanted to cancel, had they not seen my message..... anyway, he had stopped my order (as per my request) and it took a few days but the money is back in my account today. I ended up buying a phone on adverts instead. Now just waiting for a case to arrive so I can actually use it (otherwise I'm liable to drop it and break it!!)

Edit: this seller had great feedback so I wasn't worried about it being a dud,but I didn't want it to arrive from China and have to pay customs on it otherwise I'd have been as well off buying it here from a shop! Seller also confirmed their goods are shipped from Manchester anyway so there was no need to worry about customs!

Have used this seller several times with no issues....like you was worried items might arrive from China, but they were dispatched from Dublin...
Just a side not some of his electronic gear is sourced in China so you might not have a full warranty...but most of his cameras Can be 300-400 quid cheaper..

No issues with this seller genuine canon camera delivered in two weeks dispatched from Manchester....it's an international model which means warranty is not valid from canon Europe but seller offers a years warranty.
    Saved me €300

I'd be just nervous it turns out to be a dud phone after reading the few comments about giving you 5.00 to get phone fixed

It takes a few weeks to get products, I got tracking number a week before DPD actually received the order then it only took 2 days to get to me..I would say you were jumping the gun opening a disput less than a week after ordering.
What delivery date did he give on eBay ? Some stuff has to shipped to Manchester then to ireland.

I'm think about buying a canon 5d mk iii 1700+. It's a BIG investment and would be weary of them naturally enough. I bought a 60d off eglobalcentral.eu 3 years ago it's the same kind of buzz saved over 300 that time. I'm looking for reassurance with this crowd.

I think it's the same set up as eglobal as he gets them sent from Hong Kong to Manchester then on to you...naturally I was apprehensive ordering as well but he seems to have good feed back.
My order worked ok and saved a good chunk of cash ...it does take 2-3 weeks for delivery but you you get a tracking number from dpd ...keep in mind the tracking number he gets from dpd doesn't activate for 3-4 days , I was kind of panicking but it worked out fine..

Cheers for that, think I might just go with Eglobal again they have it in and around the same money with a super fast delivery of a couple of days plus i've bought twice from them before the first time I almost **** myself not knowing would it stopped by customs. They are a shady business in terms of the tax they pay on luxury goods into Ireland they mark the boxes as being spare parts or spare battery value €70. The camera i'm looking at off a retailer is 2.5k just not realistic for me.

Hi lada, I just bought and received an lg v30+, the screen us faulty with a vertical line down the middle, the is a know fault, I contacted them and they asked me to take a picture of the screen, it doesn't really show up on a photograph as its nearly impossible for a camera to focus a macro shot of a screen! Tgey replied that they couldn't see it and to just keep using it to see how i get on! I explained i wanted to know the procedure to return the unit, as they offer 30 day money back... I am awaiting the response but it seems quiet dodgy, a photograph is hardly a technical inspection! Any advice?? What does Raising a car to PayPal do??

    Thanks
