Changing to English language instead of Irish

Does a Leaving Cert subject have to be answered either fully in Irish or fully in English? For example, if a student wasn't able to answer certain questions in Tíreolaíocht/Geography as Gaeilge, is it allowed to answer mainly in Irish and partly in English?

Otherwise, if the Project for that subject was already done in Irish, does that mean that the written exam must also be done in Irish, or could they change to the English paper?

    Thanks

You can answer questions through English, but you will not get the bonus mark.

If you're in a mainly Irish centre your script will go to someone who can correct the project in Irish anyway, so that would be fine.

Just to clarify Bean Scoile's point: the bonus applies to the whole script or to none of it, so if you answer partly in Irish and partly in English, you get no bonus. (You can't get the bonus for some questions and not others.)
