They just keep a tally of which buttons were hit. so you can assess peoples thoughts on whatever. some will give a breakdown of time and other basic stats

I presume it records which faces are pressed during the the day and they add up the totals at the end of the day. They might investigate if the ratings given are low, I think it's a quick and easy way of evaluating customer service in a shop all a customer has to do is press a button which is not going to inconvenience them.

Was told that managers of "happy faced" stores will get bonus, for managing a "happy customer" store.

I always think there is room for improvement, so I alternate which button I press.

The staff in my local Lidl a friendly and helpful so I always give them a load of happy faces because the area managers seem narky and I wouldn't like the staff to get in trouble!

So the actual device itself is not wired into the ground seen one being lifted by a kid one day. so I'm assuming it takes batteries I wonder how it stores the info on a memory card or is it all WiFi. Super super suspicious of it just being an incentive for staff to be nice as the customer will hit a button on the way out. I always hit what I genuinely think about that service that day assuming it does something.

There are children that keep hitting the sad face in our local Lidl. The attitude in our local Lidl has changed in the last while, too many new staff who are short with customers. When the old staff are working , there's a completely different atmosphere.

True - I walked past a little lad bouncing his paw off the sad face like a mad thing. I was thinking "that's todays 'well done lads, customers are happy!" session down the swanee. :D
